MEET JT

Jason “JT” Tirrell is a familiar and friendly face in Easthampton, Massachusetts, where he’s called home his entire life. Known for his approachable nature and deep love for his community, JT is the kind of guy you’d meet at a Little League game or a local coffee shop, always ready with a smile and a willingness to listen. As a City Councilor, youth sports coach, and long-time equipment manager at The Williston Northampton School, JT has spent decades building connections and serving the people of Easthampton.
Born and raised in Easthampton, JT graduated from The Williston Northampton School before earning a degree in criminal justice and sociology from Castleton University. His roots run deep, and his passion for his hometown shines through in everything he does. For the past 13 years, JT has been a fixture at Williston, where he’s earned the nickname “King of the Cage” for keeping the school’s athletic programs running smoothly with his organizational skills and dedication. Whether he’s outfitting teams or cheering on student-athletes, JT’s commitment to the next generation is unmistakable.
JT’s love for Easthampton goes beyond his day job. He’s served as president of the Easthampton Little League Board of Directors for seven years, coaching kids and fostering teamwork on and off the field. He’s also been a member of the Parks & Recreation Commission, working to ensure families have safe, welcoming spaces to gather. Since 2023, JT has represented Easthampton as an at-large City Councilor, advocating for every resident with a focus on transparency and accessibility.
Now, as a candidate for Mayor, JT is running on a simple but powerful idea: “No Labels, Just Leadership.” For JT, it’s not about political parties—it’s about bringing neighbors together to find common ground. He wants to make Easthampton’s government work for everyone, from seniors and veterans to young families and small business owners. His vision is a city where every voice is heard, and every resident feels connected.
“Easthampton is more than a place to me—it’s my home, my community, my family,” JT says. “I’ve seen our city through good times and tough times, and I’m ready to lead with heart, openness, and a commitment to making life better for all of us.”
When he’s not serving the community, you might find JT cheering at a local game, grabbing a bite at a downtown restaurant, or spending time with his family. His door is always open, and he’s eager to hear what matters to his neighbors. With JT Tirrell, Easthampton has a leader who’s not just in the community—he’s of the community, ready to roll up his sleeves and build a brighter future together.
